God Blessed Texas
Exactly 1 year ago today!
This kid seriously likes blackberries!
Wouldn't say we are blessed?
There will be more to pick in the next week or so, too! Are you jealous?
Today we picked blackberries on our land and at my parent's house as one of Taft's b-day activities. It is crazy that he is already a year old today. Here is to many more b-days to celebrate!

Question?!
Why is that people ask this question when they have to know that it makes you wonder if they really like it? SO, I have been noticing more and more grey in my hair over the last 1-2 years and it has been freaking me out since I am only 27 (26 at the time I noticed the first one). So, as I started to notice more and more, I was getting tired of pulling them out with my tweezers so I decided to something about it. I got an appointment at the salon and she worked her magic. She high-lighted my hair to help camoflauge (spelling?) the grey. So, a week and a half or so after I am finally getting used to it, I am asked the question...."Did you do something different to your hair?" "Yeah, I had it high-lighted.".....SILENCE...that's right! No response. Now the girl who asked me is one of the nicest people I know....so am I to guess that either she got distracted or she just doesn't like it. What do you think? Is there any other explanation?

It's been a while
So, it has been a long time since we have posted any happenings from our neck of the woods. Life has been bush with a few extra days of working, a trip to Dallas for me and Taft, a trip to Austin for Eric and days filled with the every day hum drum work load to do. We are slowly starting to get our life back to normal I think. I haven't worked out since our house got robbed (a month ago tomorrow). I feel like a big blob of lard, but it is my own fault since I haven't been eating all that great either. We are enjoying some really great weather here and there the past few weeks and I hope it continues. We have learned that Taft can do some new tricks. Taking steps (about 5-10 at a time depending on what his motivation is and how he feels), he can wave to say hello and bye bye. He gets really excited about it too. He loves to be outdoors. Anytime I can't console him, I can take him outside or put him in the bath and it usually does the trick. Taft has had his first egg hunt about a week and half ago with his cousin Gunnar. It was cute. We would put him close to where and egg was and he would pick it up and shake it. I did take some pictures, but I am not sure when I will actually post them since I am still figuring out our computer. I also don't think that I know where my usb cable is for my camera which poses a slight problem I think. Be patient as I work out my computer literacy challenges. Eric has taken the GRE in hopes to obtain his master's degree from Lamar in Educational Leadership (administration). I am not sure the he is even convinced that he will ever use it, but it is good to have just in case, so what the heck...right!? I absolutely love working two days a week and being home with Taft the other days. He is such a sweet boy, and my favorite time to be around him is when he is with his daddy. You wouldn't believe the bond between the two. Taft sure does love his Daddy and I can't say I blame him. As I type, Eric is building Taft a swing set for his birthday party that we are having this weekend....stay tuned for pictures. We are looking forward to some quality time together this weekend with our families. Hope this update suits you well until my next picture post. If not, then don't worry....it was mostly a journaling opportunity for me while I have a few free minutes.
