Excellent Entertainment

So, I am up here in Dallas with my sister's family visiting for the weekend. Her husband sings in a barber shop group that has won 11 gold medals at competition the last 11 times that they have competed (if this is wrong, but it is pretty darn close). Anyway, they had a performance last night in conjunction with one of the area high schools so we went to watch. WOW! I knew they were good, because I have heard their CDs and what not, but seriously the show was great. I particularly enjoyed the patriotic medleys and songs about our country (i.e God Bless America, Stars & stripes Forever, and America the Beautiful). The arrangements were great, the singers phenomenal, but the reminder that in the time of distress and uncertainty music has a way of calming and reassuring me that life is but a moment and that American pride and patriotism is something that I value and cannot imagine life without. I feel so blessed that even in times of worry, doubt and distrust that I still am way better off in this country that many others. America is still the land of the FREE and for that I am so very thankful. It was so neat to watch people be applauded from each branch of the military as The Vocal Majority sang their branch's song in the Military Branch medley. Those who had served or were related to those serving/served were asked to stand during their branch's song. Those people received a well deserved round of applause and thanks. I have to say though that as the audience began to stand to let each other know that they were proud to be an American it was a neat feeling to be surrounded by grateful and proud human beings. The point is great entertainment doesn't always serve a purpose and last night mine did. If you get a chance to hear then I highly recommend going to see The Vocal Majority. They will definitely give you your money's worth!

Taft in Motion..his life in 10 min.

Taft is all over the place and can cover a lot of ground in a very small amount of time. He is so funny to watch, because he can cruise really fast with the appropriate motivation. He is a serious joy to watch as he discovers the world he will know as home!

Taft's mode of transportation...the flat footed crawl..hysterical to watch in person!

The obsession with wheels has begun...

Continued...

Love these eyes...they will melt you if you let them!

Eric says that this face came stock...from his momma!

Love @ 1st Nap?

This is Taft and Kenya Correia during the 3rd and final hour of church. Apparently Kenya finds Taft as snuggly as we do. She held his hand for about 15 minutes as they both slept in their Daddy's arms.

Liberal?

Okay, so I have not kept up with every detail of Michael Phelp's issue of smoking marijuana, but I am definitely interested in how he has been treated. I have read a few news articles and then some of the comments that readers have written and it has really peaked my interest in how my friends and family feel/think about the subject. I am not sure if I agree with some of the readers who think that he shouldn't be punished at all, but I am also not sure that I think he should have been suspended for 3 months either. I do think he was right to admit that he was smoking it, even though the picture doesn't actually prove it (no smoke, and apparently some other things). He was honest, in my book that is a point for him. He also was apologetic, which I realize most people are when they get caught, but he does seem to be sincere. He has taken his loss of sponsorship from Kelloggs and he punishment from USA swimming seriously and respectfully. I just wonder why we accept alcohol and tobacco as okay but not marijauna. And just for the record...I do not condone either...I myself have never smoked, had any amout of alcohol or anything like unto it so don't think for a second that I am okay with any of this. I am just simply interested in why we as society deem smoking tobacco in the privacy of our own homes okay and not pot? What are your thoughts? I am just curious if I am thinking a little more liberal than some or maybe most?
